Micro but Many pre-orders open + other important news

Micro but Many pre-orders open + other important news

Hi everyone. Our website is still open for day-to-day orders. Due to the global situation we find ourselves in, our fulfilment house is running at reduced hours with less staff. This means that orders will be processed, but just a little slower than usual. As always, tracking details are sent with each order so you can keep an eye on where your package is. At the time of writing, DPD, Royal Mail and DHL are all operating as normal – albeit slower than usual. If for any reason, we can't deliver to your country, we will hold the order here and ship as soon as we're given the all clear.

We hope that everyone is safe, and if stuck indoors, is having the opportunity to play some games. Things seem to be changing frequently so we will endeavour to do regular updates. If you have any queries regarding anything, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Micro but Many: an unofficial Micro Machines collection – early bird pre-order offer
We had originally stated a launch date of April 14th for Micro but Many: an unofficial Micro Machines collection. However, due to the reduced staffing at our fulfilment house (mentioned above), this will push a couple of weeks to Monday 27th April. It doesn’t feel right to put them, or the delivery companies under unnecessary pressure during this period.

The good news is that pre-orders are now open. Pre-order to receive a 10% early bird discount and ordering direct from Bitmap Books means that you’ll receive a foil blocked bookmark and a ‘shiny’ logo sticker. If for any reason, this date has to shift again, we will of course keep you updated.

If you already have a pre-order with us, get in touch with your order number and we can add this book to your existing order. For those outside the UK, this will save you incurring extra shipping changes.

Bitmap Books collaborate on Video Game Stamps for Royal Mail

Bitmap Books collaborate on Video Game Stamps for Royal Mail

We’re very proud to announce that Bitmap Books have been working in collaboration with award-winning design agency, Supple Studio, to create a set a video game themed stamps for the Royal Mail.

The final set of stamps each feature a classic British made game – these include Elite, Dizzy, Micro Machines, Sensible Soccer, Lemmings, Populous, WipeOut and Worms. Also produced is a Tomb Raider themed mini-sheet featuring memorable scenes from various Tomb Raider games. Each main stamp features a single, carefully selected screenshot from the game and typography directly taken or influenced by the game’s visuals. The presentation pack is written by the legendary games journalist Julian ‘Jaz’ Rignall.

It’s been huge privilege to work on these stamps and to have Bitmap Books play a part in making them happen. The UK games industry has produced some of the world’s most successful and iconic video games, and to have a selection of these immortalised in a set stamps feels like a suitable recognition.

There are various ways to get the stamps, such as limited edition collectors pack, presentation pack and even a set of framed stamps. You can pre-order them here. They will be released on the 21st January.

See if you can spot the easter eggs!

Metal Slug: The Ultimate History – shipping update

Metal Slug: The Ultimate History – shipping update

Update on the shipping status of Metal Slug: The Ultimate History.

Pre-orders are now closed so if you've placed a pre-order, you'll be getting your book first, before it goes on general sale.

The original plan was to ship in early November. The good news is that we've managed to claw back some time in the schedule so packing will actually commence this week.

With the uncertainty around Brexit, we have decided to prioritise EU and UK orders and our aim is to ship these before the 31st October. The truth is that no-one knows what will happen with Brexit and there's lots of false information out there. We've taken the decision to ship EU and UK orders as a priority to avoid any potential disruptions caused by events that may or may not happen on October 31st.

Orders to the rest of the world will then follow right away, and the plan is to ship these at the end of October.

This is the plan with our best intentions. Until fulfilment actually starts, it's impossible to be exact with dates but fingers crossed everything goes smoothly.

Thanks for your patience.

Thanks, Bitmap Books
